How are these gold rates calculated?
We take the live international spot price of gold in US dollars per troy ounce, convert it to dirhams at the fixed UAE peg of 3.6725 AED per USD, and divide by 31.1035 grams. 24K is fine gold; 22K, 21K and 18K are calculated by purity (91.67%, 87.5% and 75% gold).
How often are the rates updated?
The rates on this page refresh every minute while the page is open, following the international spot market.
What is a tola?
A tola is a traditional unit of weight for gold used across the UAE and South Asia. One tola equals 11.6638 grams.
Are these the prices I will pay in a jewellery shop?
